Did you know about the Clitoris on your honeymoon?

Yes, we both knew the importance of the Clitoris for achieving female orgasm before our honeymoon. (If so, how did you learn about it? Please explain)

In reference to the recent addition to this thread: http://ldssexuality.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=1883, in particular the article mentioned:

http://intimacyinmarriage.com/2015/11/21/5-lies-christians-spread-about-sex-the-last-one-is-the-worst/

God Himself came up with the clitoris.

I wish I didn't have to keep bringing this up, but it gets overlooked, time and again: the doctrines of the restored gospel as we have them do not permit us to accept this idea. And it's remarkable to me even how other Christians can persist in holding it, in light of their professed belief that God created us in His image.

I guess if you take this to mean that, yes, we're created in the most general template of head, shoulders, knees and toes, eyes, ears, mouth and nose, then you could entertain the notion that when God was up there on the Celestial Drawing Board, He scratched His head and suddenly the inspiration hit Him (what, the older generation Holy Ghost from Heavenly Grandfather?) and He said "I know! I'll put this little thingy in women's genitals - this little cluster of nerves to give them pleasure so that they can be happy in their marriages!"

Maybe at that point Heavenly Mother comes into the drafting room with a tray of sandwiches and He says to Her "Look, dear, you'll never guess what I've come up with for the mortal bodies of our daughters when they go to earth." And he shows her, and she says "well, that's just lovely! I wish we had had something like that when we were mortal! What a clever God you are!"

I mean, really.

It's more honest in light of our radical weird doctrines of "as man is, God once was" to go along with Jennifer Finlayson-Fife's idea of our heavenly Parents being sexual beings - that the "design" of the body isn't so much a design as an eternal fact or necessity or . . . something, without beginning or end.

Dwelling on these thoughts can lead to some strange ideas, or to the undoing of many of our comfortable ideas. What are the natural laws that God follows? I ask myself: what are the unconscious necessities to which even Gods are restricted in operating?

In any case, I see the idea of a male deity deliberately designing the female human clitoris as a simple-minded fiction which we have no excuse to keep entertaining.

I agree with you completely.

The article you mention is of course not written by a Mormon and I think that others think that God is the first and only God therefore he would have to have designs the female body.

Of course we can't know for sure, but it would seem that everything has always been how it is and no other design for our world, our universe, or our bodies could be used because of eternal law or some such thing.

Maybe what they mean is that there is nothing wrong with the clitoris. It is meant to be there and has a purpose. So far, we only know of its orgasm inducing abilities. At some point there was a beginning and through divine wisdom, or whatever you want to call it, the clitoris became part of the female body.

Also, the clitoris isn't as tiny as many people think. The majority of it is inside the body. http://m.mic.com/articles/112172/here-s ... .XOHslINdF

Of course the reason a woman has a clitorus is because at the earliest stages of development male and female fetuses are essentially the same. After testosterone kicks in in the male the clitorus grows into a penis, the labium close up and become a scrotum, testicles develop instead of ovaries, a prostate grows where the female is left with a nerve bundle that is known as the g-spot. Later in development the female breasts develop where the male breasts do not. So I would say a woman has a clitorus because if she didn't then a man wouldn't have a penis, but each have roughly the same function as far as pleasure is concerned.

In the same way that the only function of the clitorus is for pleasure, the only function of the male nipple other than its visual effect, is for pleasure.

Well, and the only function of the nerves in the glans is for pleasure as well. To serve the purpose of procreation, it would be just fine to have some automatic response to ejaculate right after penetration - "premature ejaculation" as the norm. As scientists have pointed out, the human penis is also larger than it really needs to be just for procreating.

So the orgasm, which researchers are finding the clitoris to play a vital role in the female orgasm, may have reproductive purpose (even the so called "vaginal" orgasm may actually be from clitoral simulation inside or indirectly outside). We also know orgasm releases hormones and has many health benefits. Oxytocin is among the those hormones. Both men and women release it but significantly more in women. I was reading today how oxytocin, specifically during clitoral orgasm, resets the body. I'll write more on that later, though.

Female Orgasm: Why?

Female orgasm has remained a mystery compared with the more frequent and easily achieved male orgasm. In terms of evolution and adaptation, women do not need to experience orgasm in order to reproduce. So what is the function of orgasm in females?

Darwinian theorists who made early attempts to address female orgasm proposed that orgasm keeps a woman lying down after sex, passively retaining sperm and increasing her probability of conception. Others suggested that it evolved to create a stronger pair bond between lovers, inspiring in women feelings of intimacy and trust toward mates. Some reasoned that orgasm communicates a woman's sexual satisfaction and devotion to a lover.

Evolutionary psychologists have been exploring the proposition that female orgasm is a sophisticated adaptation that allows women to manipulate--even without their own awareness--which of their lovers will be allowed to fertilize their eggs (3).

Multiple orgasm in Women
It's no secret that some women have multiple orgasms--Masters and Johnson documented the phenomenon more than 20 years ago (6).

The female orgasm presents a paradox. While it is much more difficult to achieve than male orgasm, when achieved, it seems capable of repeated pleasure: the so-called multiple orgasm. Why, in any adaptational argument, should this be? Why should the female's pleasure not be as direct and as immediately rewarding as the male's?

Theories suggest that muscular contractions associated with orgasms pull sperm from the vagina to the cervix, where it's in better position to reach the egg. Reseachers discovered that when a woman climaxes until 45 minutes after her lover ejaculates, she retains significantly more sperm than she does after nonorgasmic sex.
