My very first wet dream woke me up right as I climaxed. I was a very innocent 13 year-old with no experience with masturbation or porn and woke up sticky and surprised--having ejaculated dreaming about beautiful young single woman in my ward. 30 years later having moved away and back we're in the same ward again. In all the years following the first one, I almost never woke up until after orgasm and almost never remember an erotic dream. I just woke up having come in my underwear. During and after my mission, while abstaining from masturbation and any other outlet, I had wet dreams all the time and never had erotic dreams. Of course, I would never tell this woman that I had an erotic dream about her 30+ years ago, but if I were the inspiration for an innocent orgasm I think I'd be flattered to know. Oh well.

A lot of you guys mentioned not being told anything about wet dreams. Do you wish your parents had talked to you about them beforehand? Do you feel you would have been less embarrassed if they had?

Have you taught your sons or daughters about wet dreams?

I taught my son about wet dreams in preparation for puberty. I wanted him to know what to expect and not be freaked out by it all. I think it's helped him talk more openly about it.

I don't see wet dreams as much different than a girl getting her period. Except periods don't give orgasms darn it.

Cramps or O? It's the same thing isn't it?

I think it would have been helpful to know before hand. I have not told my sons about this. I only have one that would still qualify, so I'll have to sit him down and talk to him.

I honesty don’t remember how I felt about my first wet dream. I’m sure I enjoyed it, I always did but I don’t know how I felt about it. I know no one ever talked to me about it but I learned about it from Elder Packer’s To Young Men Only talk. I’d have heard that when I was twelve but I don’t know if that was before or after my first wet dream.

I didn’t talk to my sons personally about wet dreams but our school district has maturation discussion meetings for both boys and girls. The girls learn about their periods etc. while the boys learn about the male reproductive system including wet dreams. The parents can attend these meetings which I did.
