We generally only use lube for intercourse. And only then if we are doing a quickie.

Lube required every time there is penetration with the penis, and sometimes if I’m internally fingering her. We’ve tried without and it never works. Our standard encounter almost always includes me fingering her to at least 2-3 orgasms before attempting PIV sex, so I know she is plenty turned on. I’m also on the larger side, so even after she’s had a few orgasms it won’t go in without a little help. At different times of the month she’s wet enough to not need lube for G spot stimulation, and other times of the month it’s needed. We use either coconut oil if we aren’t using condoms, or Astroglide if we are.

My wife hates using lube, but sometimes when we're both a little dehydrated we need it. Otherwise either one of us provides enough for both.

Answering for my wife: for the last 10 years, never. Early in marriage, most of the time we’d use plenty of lube—she’d need it. We now have sex about once a month and take our time and have lots of foreplay. I go down on her before intercourse and she is wet and aroused and has usually experienced an orgasm before any penis in vagina. It’s a bummer not to have sex more frequently, but when we do, she’s into it and it’s awesome. I’ve always been the higher desire spouse. Early in marriage she’d acquiesce 2 or 3 times a week and would do it for me. She’d be in a hurry and say “don’t worry about me.” After a number of years of too much unsatisfying pity sex, we compromised on monthly-ish great sex and I’m encouraged to masturbate all I wish between. So she doesn’t need lube anymore. I go through quite a bit wanking. For beginners, taking time and really sweetly, patiently working on the wife’s pleasure AND communicating well go a long way toward lubricating the female anatomy. I know everyone’s body is different and I think aging brings on more potential dryness, but the need for lube is at least somewhat diminished by a woman being highly aroused.

I answered never. I'm typically very wet almost embarrassingly so. When we have PIV sex I'm so wet it froths up into white cream, kind of like shaving cream and it makes a mess on the sheets. My husband jokingly refers to it as butter and that when he's thrusting into me that he's churning butter. When he pulls out there's a ring around his penis. It seems to fluctuate with the month and my cycle so not always so noticeable. It's kind of embarrassing but he actually loves it so I'm kind of ok with it now.

This has changed over time for us. Early in our marriage we needed it due to her tightness for PIV but not for fingering. It just made it more comfortable for her. After a few years very seldom did we need it at all. My dw was plenty wet and and with mine it was just comfortable and fine. Then we found lube again and used it at times just to enjoy the sensation and feel. Or finding a silicone based lube for in the hot tub. Now though after menopause for her she needs lube for fingering or intercourse. We generally use coconut oil since it stays slick longer than other lubes we have purchased before. It also is much less expensive and works better for us so why not.
